Traditional village with a lively atmosphere. Links to the ski area of Kitzbuhel, known for its pretty wooded slopes and wonderful mountain restaurants.
In favour of KirchbergThere three ways into the lift system, all a bus ride from the village. Despite its low altitude, Kirchberg lies in a snow pocket, which means that good snow conditions prevail from the end of December to end-March, longer on the higher slopes. Kirchberg has a very attractive and varied skiing area, with a delightful mixture of woodlands and open upper pistes with wonderful views. The skiing caters particularly for intermediates and beginners, and it has its own small beginner and intermediate lifts on the Gaisberg, and offers access to the Hahnenkamm by a two-stage chair, the Klausen gondola and a second gondola that rises from a giant car park between Kirchberg and Aschau. It has a kindergarten, Kinderclub Total, and three ski schools: Skischool Total, Skischool Kirchberg and Aktiv. A variety of mountain restaurants.
Disadvantages The village is fragmented. There are only 19 km. of tough runs for real experts, but plenty of variety. Low altitude prevents late season skiing.
Non-Skiing Activities A toboggan run on Gaisberg and marked trails for walking.
