Sleepy but exclusive hamlet - off the beaten track for tourists and offering a great combination of village charm and the skiing of St Anton over the mountain. Village chair lift gives direct access to the Arlberg ski area.
In favour of St. ChristophThe hamlet of St. Christoph is the smallest village on the Arlberg ski-pass with direct access by chair lift to the skiing of St. Anton and all the skiing on the Arlberg ski-pass. The village is at high altitude and therefore enjoys good snow conditions throughout its long ski season from the end of November until the end of April. At St. Christoph you can enjoy village life yet enjoy the skiing of a major resort. Families will find the logistics of this compact village easy and there is never far to walk to ski-school or to the ski lifts, which are right on your doorstep.
The Galzig area above St. Christoph offers a range of skiing, but is particularly suited to the more serious skier, offering the sublime challenges of the Valluga and Schindlergrat at 2605m. The ski run to St. Christoph from Galzig (2185m) is a blue run which any novice or intermediate should be able to manage. This is reached by the only chair lift operating from the centre of the village. There is a nursery slope with its own lift in the village. The two Maiensee lifts just outside the village offer easy skiing for novices. St. Anton is only 7 kilometres away and is easy to get to during the day either by bus or taxi.
Disadvantages Young people in search of nightlife and plenty of evening amusement will find St. Christoph too sleepy and remote.
