Chalets vary hugely in size, location and service, and thus price. And from the range of operators each has different strengths and specialities For families with young children, there are English run crèches and childcare, with young skiers taken to and from ski school and given lunch.
If you are a big party, or even on your own, the large chalet hotels are perfect for meeting people and socializing and can be a good base for teenagers wanting to party. The budget conscious will find more modest chalets, and the charter flights and inclusive meals and wine make for good value.
A party that wish privacy and outstanding levels of service and cuisine may take an entire luxury chalet giving flexibility in menus, wines and childcare, and sometimes even a private swimming pool.
We are familiar with the strengths of the operators and can recommend a chalet holiday to suit you best and make the booking for you, at the same price as you would pay by going direct. Our preferred specialist operators are listed below.

There are some disadvantagesTravel is normally by charter flight and on the busiest, weekend days for the airports and traffic to the resorts. You have to stay for a fixed 7 nights. If travelling with the bigger operators, you may feel too packaged, whether it’s transferring by coach or being herded to the ski shop. Unless you take over the entire chalet, you take potluck on how well you will gel with the others in the chalet and their children. The menus are largely fixed and prepared by British cooks, limiting your chance to enjoy local cuisine. Being operated by British companies, the prices during the peak school holiday dates are the highest.
