La Plagne is made up of 10 interlinked villages with a massive ski area to suit everyone from beginners to advanced intermediates. This Paradiski area offers glacier skiing and includes the skiing of les Arcs as well as La Plagne.
In favour of La PlagneEach of the interlinked villages has its own style ranging from purpost built to traditional. Snow is all but guaranteed from December to April. The snow park and the snow-sports centre, half pipe and big air are situated at La Plagne Bellecôte and there is a boarder cross area at Col de Forcle, la Rossa (Champagny en Vanoise) and at Montchavin-les-Coches. There are a number of excellent off-piste runs. La Plagne is excellent for families, with nurseries for children aged 2-6, ski kindergarten from 3-7 years.
Disadvantages Not much for non-skiers to do. Some lift queues in high season, especially French holidays. Lower villages can suffer from poor snow.
Non-skiing activities There are a number of guided snowshoe walks. 2 natural ice rinks, Olympic bob-sleigh run, outdoor heated swimming pool in Bellecôte, saunas, bowling, paragliding, ice climbing, snow quad and skidoo, cinema, and numerous bars and restaurants.
