With a stunning position overlooking Davos, this contemporary style
boutique hotel has delightful nostalgic touches from
the Art Nouveau era. The Waldhotel was built in the
early 20th century as a sanatorium, and was the
setting for Thomas Mann's novel 'The Magic Mountain'.
Although it is a 10-minute walk downhill to the
centre of Davos,
the hotel runs a free shuttle service to and from the
lift stations. 50 spacious bedrooms some with large
southeast facing balconies with loungers which evoke the old
style of the sanatorium itself. The Waldhotel was completely
renovated in 2006 and is the only hotel in Davos to be a member of the
“Small Luxury Hotels of the World”
