Not yet discovered by the English mass market. Skiing on a par with the top Swiss resorts, excellent and varied for all standards. Family-orientated with reliable snow
In favour of LenzerheideLenzerheide and Valbella are linked together by their skiing terrain, yet separated by a lake at the base of a beautiful, wide valley amidst some wonderful scenery. Valbella is a tiny backwater village while Lenzerheide is larger and extends along the valley. The whole area is dotted with the most magnificent pines. Some excellent skiing, as good as you can find anywhere in Switzerland, is available on both sides of the valley, well connected. There are excellent off-piste facilities. Well-placed mountain restaurants.
Disadvantages Après ski is limited. Runs at the hard end of the spectrum are not particularly tough, but advanced skiers can still find some degree of challenge in the area. A car is useful although the main street of Lenzerheide could actually do with fewer cars.
Non-skiing activities Artificial and natural ice-skating rinks, bowling alley, toboggan runs, swimming pool with sauna, whirlpool, fitness room and jacuzzi. Guided walks, horse sleigh rides, paragliding. A variety of restaurants and bars.
