A beautiful turn of the century hotel overlooking the village with magnificent mountain views, yet still only 5 minutes from the Sunnegga funicular and village centre. The reception area and lounge have been beautifully renovated. The cosy bar area offers afternoon tea and cakes and a pianist who plays most evenings.

67 rooms are all furnished to a high standard, most recently the sympathetically designed 6th floor which contains a number of attractively decorated suites, including the Tower Suite with an observatory reached by a glass spiral staircase from where you can enjoy a 360 degree view of Zermatt.

Gourmet food is very important at this hotel, on Fridays there is an exceptional barbeque held offering 25 different types of meat and 13 types of fish. 3 dining areas from which to choose, ranging from the traditional ‘Matterhorn room’ to a more cosy wooden clad Stübli. Spa facilities include indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam bath and beauty treatments.
